NAU ASCE is a student chapter of the professional organization
American Society of Civil Engineers. We work closely with local engineering companies and other organizations to help our community build better.
The officer arrangement of NAU ASCE student chapter includes, President, Vice President, Secretary, Activities/ Fundraiser Coordinator, Webmaster, Treasurer, Conference Coordinator and Historian. Each officer has a responsibility for dealing with their own affairs punctually and helping NAU ASCE student chapter expand the influence among the students. In addition, the association itself is supported by NAU civil engineering department faculties and Northern Arizona Branch of
Arizona Society of Civil Engineers Section. They mainly provide engineering project consultation and help.
The recruitment of members of NAU ASCE student chapter are mainly divided into two categories: first, as a professional member, this part of students have a great interest and aspirations to participate in building different engineering projects and complete with other universities’ students in annual Pacific Southwest Regional Conference. The professional members will also be organized by NAU ASCE to participate in some technical training and other activities; second category is the volunteer members, who would like to voluntarily serve NAU ASCE for dealing with some emergency events when officers do not have time and help association to build some simple and fundamental engineering projects.
It is a very good opportunity for freshman and sophomore students to involve in NAU ASCE student chapter as a volunteer to learn some fabricated skills in practice and accumulate some competition experiences. For junior and senior students, it is very necessary to join NAU ASCE student chapter to put your knowledge into practice and lay a solid foundation for future’s work.
NAU ASCE student chapter will also invite some engineering project designers, managers and other relevant engineers and instructors who are working different engineering fields to address a speech or professional lectures at regular intervals. Its purpose is to help students broaden their vision and understand the dynamic needs of social, market, human resources in engineering field.
